James is the love of my life. He has cystic fibrosis and rapidly declined into active lung failure within days of our wedding. James got his second double lung transplant on May 29, 2013! We are documenting our moments and memories together as we search for hope in the dark and hold each other close for comfort and strength.

nausea
James is having another nausea and vomiting episode. Zofran and Gravol give him a couple hours of reprieve through sleep, but James wakes every hour to vomit and wretch. He reaches out with shaky hands. He is covered in sweat (and salt). We are both exhausted and worn out. It is hard enough to be in the ICU for months. This just feels cruel. I am completely helpless.

I am so sorry you and James have to go through all of this. I started reading your blog when I found it mentioned in Jessica's blog. My heart and prayers go out to you both. Praying that new lungs come for James soon.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. Have you guys given any thought to having a Naturopath advise? Allopathic (Western) medicine is incredible, but with things like nausea, there are effective remedies that can provide relief when other therapies fail. For example, there is a throat spray with cannabis that is an effective anti-emetic used by chemo-patients.
ReplyDeletePlease know that many people are thinking of you and holding you both in our hearts. It seems so little to say, and yet there is nothing more to do. (Yes, I have signed up as an organ donor, and so has everyone else reading these comments. Right, everyone?)
